Urban Program Coordinator

The Prince George Nechako Aboriginal Employment & Training Association (PGNAETA) seeks a qualified and experienced Program Coordinator to support the delivery  of Urban Aboriginal Employment training projects and Aboriginal Homelessness initiatives.

This role will be responsible for program management of two funds encompassing multiple community projects.  Working closely with the Urban Aboriginal Working Group and the Program team at PGNAETA the successful candidate will be responsible to ensure all standards are met and organizations supported. To succeed at this job you must be organized, enthusiastic about developing First Nations citizens and eager to assist with community development,   

Basic knowledge/skill/attributes:

  • Knowledge of Urban Aboriginal labour force dynamics, needs and opportunities

  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in project management and/or delivering training and employment services.

  • Education in human services, business administration, labour market programming, or other relevant training and experience an asset.

  • Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills, conflict resolution, public speaking ability, and report writing.

  • Case management skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, and adhere to relevant privacy legislation and procedures.

  • Excellent time and organizational management along with the ability to prioritize tasks, flexibility to deal with unexpected issues, and effective decision making.

  • Advocacy and proposal writing skills.

  • Digital Skills: knowledge of MS Office systems, web apps, databases, and social media.

  • Class 5 Driver’s licence and reliable transportation.

  • The successful candidate will be required to submit a satisfactory criminal records check.

Hours of Work: 
8:30 to 4:30 Monday to Friday
