Urban Indigenous Projects & Services


 

Applicants will demonstrate how the proposed service recognizes the unique needs of Indigenous citizens.  The ultimate outcomes are improved skill levels and improved employment outcomes that will help close the skills, employment and earning gaps.

Applicants are required to describe/demonstrate the following:

  • Youth informed Strategies
  • Innovation for skill building, work experiences or mentorship, small business development
  • Customized culturally appropriate approaches
  • Evidence based practice
  • Wrap around supports through community collaboration
  • Partnership (cash or in-kind)   

Priorities:  Health, Construction and Trades, Early Learning Childcare, Literacy, Skill building aligned with Culture and traditions, Research that “Tells our Story” through Indigenous methodology. 

Who can apply:  Indigenous non-profit organizations,    

Participants:  Youth including early interventions, Women, Citizens with barriers to employment.  Projects must demonstrate wrap around supports for Indigenous citizens who are under-employed (part time, minimum wage) and those who are currently unemployed.  

Application deadline:  the application can be accessed by contacting PGNAETA at 250-561-1199.  The deadline for applications is June 12, 2019.  The earliest start date for projects/services is July 02, 2019.
